He Loves Me

The love of God is the best type of love there is. He loves beyond our flaws and His love is not based on conditions. He loves us even when we mess up.  There is no limit on His love for us.  He will never forsake us. He is always there for us no matter how many times when forsake Him. He is authentic and genuine. He doesn’t require much from us except that we live for Him.

John 15:9-17 As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you.Abide in my love.  If you keep my commandments, you willabide in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love. These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full. This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you. No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you. You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you. These things I command you, so that you will love one another.

As a child, I used to doubt God’s love for me. I used to say to myself that God doesn’t love me because I would pray to Him and I felt He would never respond to me. I felt that I wasn’t His beloved.  It wasn’t until I got older I realized that He loved me and that He calls me the apple of his eye. I was his love one . I am his daughter who he sent his son to die on the cross for me. If that isn’t love then I don’t know what is because I know that I would not be able to do that for stranger let alone my own family. My child’d life for another’s life. I don’t think I’ll be able to do it. Would you? You see God didn’t even have to think about that He just did it.

So for those of you who doubt that God loves you then I would suggest that you spend some time in His word and just talk to Him and ask Him to show you His love. When I tell you this will truly change your perspective.

John 3:16  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

I heard this song by Major called, “This is Why I Love You,” I’ll share the lyrics that really spoke to me and reminded me of God’s love and the reason why I love Him so much. Here goes the lyrics,

I found love in you

And I’ve learned to love me too

Never have I felt that I could be all that you see

It’s like our hearts have intertwined and to the perfect harmony

This is why I love you

Ooh this is why I love you

Because you love me

You love me

This is why I love you

Ooh this is why I love you

Because you love me

You love me

I found love in you

And no other love will do

Every moment that you smile chases all of the pain away

Forever and a while in my heart is where you’ll stay

Remember, God loves you oh so much despite what  you feel or what someone tells you. God’s love is priceless.

Love Thyself : A journey of learning to love myself

Recently,  I’ve been on a journey of self love because I realized  the importance of embracing and loving me. How many of us know that no one is going to love you more than yourself? I didn’t know that. I saw how individuals could loved you to an extent because they operate on their emotions and personal conditions. Who wants love like that? Love that is based on conditions. I know I don’t!  This tends to lead us to base our self value on that conditioned love. I know because I’ve done that several times in the past. I was constantly searching  to find someone to love me to my worth. Every time I was sadly disappointed.

After years of experiencing this, I decided that it was time to put an end  to this search and learn to love on me. When I tell you that this was hard but I didn’t rely on myself to make it through the journey. I had to relay on God. He opened my eyes to see who I was in Him. As I grew in Christ my eyes began to open and I began to see who I in Christ.  There were so many scriptures that helped me and I’m going to share some of them with you and tips on how I learned to love me.

1. Daily Affirmations.  Speaking life to yourself is a great way to build self confidence. Stand in the mirror either clothed or naked. Just say what you love about yourself or do the “I am” speech. For example,  I am beautiful. I am smart.

2.Me Days. Take your self out on “Me Dates” I love this because it forces you to step out of your comfort zone. The idea of taking  yourself out on a date is different from pampered day because you gotta dress up and do the whole nine yards as if were going on a date for real with the opposite sex. However, this not the case because you are going out with yourself.  Don’t pull out your phone just enjoy being in the company of you.

3.Know Your Spiritual Identity. This is the most important part because once you truly understand who you are in Christ you will be renewed and transformed. A firm spiritual walk is the key to success on this journey because you know who you are in God so when you forgot. He will always remind you that you are His Beloved. In order for you to know who you are in Christ. You have to spend time with Him and read that word. So my suggestion is find scriptures that speak to you and memorize them so that they are engraved on your mind and heart. Even post them around so you can look at them as a daily reminders when you forget WHOSE YOU ARE! Ill share with you my favorite go to scriputures:

Ephesians 2:10

 Isaiah 62:3

Isaiah 43:1

Psalms 45:13

Psalms 139:13-16

These scriptures helped me and still remind me of who I am on those days when I’m not loving on me. Remember your scriptures will be in anchor for you on this journey.

4. Take Out the Trash. In order to have a clean house you must remove everything or body that is toxic to your life. If it doesn’t edify, empower or encourage you then it gots to go. There no need to have this type of negativity in  your life. So get to cleaning!

5.Take Care of Self. In order to feel good about you. You need to take of your temple. By being mindful of what you put in it or how you cloth it. You want to make sure you not only have a healthy mind soul but also body. Treat your body as a holy place and don’t allow unhealthy food to defile it.Work out as well.  This helps build confidence. My personal motto you take care of your body then your body will take care of you. Also, keep it cute. Dress up and beat that face. Keep your you4self groomed. Go get that mani and pedi or spa masssage. You are the Designer’s original artwork so look like it. Take yourself shopping and get some clothes that make you feel and look good. I’m not saying go broke by going above your means but do what your pockets can afford.

I hope these tips were helpful for your journey to loving you.  I know that they have helped me and still helping me. Leave a comment below about any other tips you have that helped you out on the Loving Thyself  journey.
Until next time

Season of Uncertainty

Hey Beautiful People,

Have you ever been in place in your life where you are just uncertain about life and your purpose in it? Its like you feel you are just going through the motions. This is where I am right now? I’m in season of uncertainity. Its been a month since I’ve been fired from my recent job. When it happened I wasn’t sad or stressed about it. However, I  wanted to know what now. Where am I going now? What is my main focus? I have been battling whether or not that  the Lord was leading  me in the area of my passion of fashion.

Guys, when I tell you that I love that field but my focus area is image consulting.  I love making people feel beautiful,  handsome and helping them step out their comfort box.  But, I question myself all the time as to whether or not this where God is leading me or is this where I’m leading myself? I know this has to be God but I’m just not sure faith was. I believe it is Him but just like man I walking on egg shells ans being hesitate.
I don’t know why though. I believed that God spoke to me the beginning of the year. When the speakers were speaking on purpose and they used the name of company D3fined Image and using based scriputure Ps 139:13-16. Where it talks about being made in the image of God. Then later, this year I got an internship with this Fashion Designer. Now my cousin told me that their is someone who interested in paying someone to dress models for him. I was like man look at these signs. But how don’t know its God? I know it is Him because stuff like thus don’thappen to me. But why the doubt though?

I’m over here having a Moses complex. Where I’m questioning whether im good enough and I’m looking at all my defaults  instead just being like Abram just trusting Him. I dont don’t want Saul situation where God takes His hand off me or He was with me on this journey to being with.  This is the stuff I battle with all the time.  I just need  a clear sign from God to  say thisis where I’m leading you so trust me.  I will equip you with the knowledge and skills you need. Thats all I want to hear to put myself at ease and truly take that leap.

This is why I’m in my season of Uncertainty. All these questions and doubts are hindering me from going forward. I don’tknow what to do when it comes to this manner. I feel a fast and prayer coming soon because I don’t want to take this season into my new year.  Have you guys ever experienced this? What did you do?  I would love to hear your experiences?

Until next time,

Destiny, Where Art Thou?

Hey Folks!!!

So lately, I’ve been on the search to figure out my destiny because I feel like its time for me to walk into my purpose.  I’m tired of just living life and wandering through life not understanding why I was placed here on earth. TD Jakes stated, “The gift or desire that God has wired you to express is unique to you. Others can’t understand how you do what you do, but neither can you understand how they act in their gifts” (Destiny..Step in Your Purpose). I was one of those individuals who was a bit eviness of others who knew what their purpose were and walking in their destiny. I wanted to experience this feeling of knowing what I was created to do with my life.  I felt that I was going through the motions of life. I was tired of just going through life and its daily routine.

image

Evertyday, I would say to myself that I would make the changes. It got to the point where I was sounding like a broken record. I need to make the change. I’ve decided that its finally time for me to get ready to walk into purpose.  I invite you guys who says that its time to walk purpose to join me on this journey. I’ll share my obstacles and challenges that I encounter. Feel free to share any of challenges so that we can encourage each other.

Slow & Steady Wins the Race

Happy Thursday Beautiful People,

How many of you know that you can find a message in everything that you do or see. God speaks to us in many different facets and that is why He is so amazing. Yesterday, when I was driving to work there was this car driving in front of me and I was like, oh no this person is driving way to slow for my liking and I needed to pass them so that is exactly what I did. So I lose sight of this car and continue to drive my regular route to work. Guys, you  won’t believe who was in front of me when I got closer to my destination… thats right the same white car that I passed so couple of miles back was now in front of me. I was like this is crazy and just like that God dropped a nugget in my heart.

He said that there are going to be people in your life who pass you by because they feel that you are not going at the speed they want you. However, don’t you fret because everything happens on God’s timing and He will get there when He deems its time. He will place you ahead of those individuals who thought you were to slow and left you in the dust. However, God will never leave you or no forsake. He made us to be the head not the tail. Deuteronomy 28:13, “The LORD will make you the head, not the tail. If you pay attention to the commands of the LORD your God that I give you this day and carefully follow them, you will always be at the top, never at the bottom.”   So submit to God in prayer everything that we do and desire. Obey His commandments in order for these things to take place.   Check your motives to ensure that they are pure. You can’t come to God in prayer and have bad motives behind it and think He will elevate you because it doesn’t work like that with our God.  Pure heart equals favor from the Lord.

Running the good race:

Everything happens on God’s time so endure the journey. Just like that driver in white car who was going at their pace because they knew that eventually they would get to their destination despite the impatient individuals surrounding them. We must remember that even if we are slow but steady, we will overcome and win the race.  But we endure and embrace the journey that we are on and don’t rush and trust God’s perfect timing. Remember, 2 Timothy 4:7, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” As encouragement to enduring the race and complete with the grace of the Lord through your faith and His timing.

Overcoming Strongholds

Hey Beautiful People,

I wasn’t sure if I was going to post this blog. It has taken me so long to even write it that I was going to let this day go by without posting it, but something was like no. You need to post this because someone needs to be free from their bondage. I created this blog with the intent of sharing and motivating individuals through my life hence the name of the blog. I didn’t think I would get that personal until now.

There are things we do or go through in our lives that we have keep secretive that we would be ashamed of if people knew what we did behind closed doors or keep hidden. This was my shame yet my addiction.  I was addicted to pornography and masturbation.   If I was Superman this would be my kryptonite. I mean I would watch it all day and want to masturbate every chance I got. It got to a point I did it secretly in public without a care in the world. I just wanted to feed my flesh desires.  I know it was wrong but how could I stop doing something that I started when I was three and I was introduce to pornography at young age when I saw my brother watching it and become intrigued and then hooked like a baited fish. The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed. A stronghold in times of trouble #Psalm 9:9 #scripture:

Over the years, I tried hard to break this habit but it just didn’t seem to work because every time my flesh yearned for it I did it.  It got so bad as time progressed especially when I got introduced to phone sex. Guys, when I tell you that phone sex rocked my world and flipped it upside down. All I wanted to do was find guys who voice sounded appealing to me and listen to them tell me things that sexually aroused me. I knew what I was doing was wrong but I didn’t know how to stop. I tried praying but I felt that I wasn’t being genuine with it because I would fall again into this act.

There were times, when I felt to dirty and shameful to go to God and ask Him forgiveness and deliver me from this bondage. There were times when I would go and try my own curing experiment when I would try go weeks or month without doing it.  I failed miserably. It didn’t helped that I was talking to a guy that made me what to masturbate every time I spoke to him. I had friends who would tell their sex escapes and it made me envious because here I was a virgin and they are doing what I wanted.

You are a child of God! You have the greatest power in the Universe inside you. You can break any addiction and overcome any stronghold!:

I couldn’t take it something had to give. It finally came when my cousins who had the same problem decided that we are going to do a purity walk because  it was time live our life in pure and holy for God in everything not just sexual manner. I was excited because this was finally my breakthrough. I was finally going to be free this habit. I tried but within the first month I failed with a capital F but I keep trying because I made a conscious decision this was going to be a battle and that I needed to truly surrender it to God and He will kick this habit for me.

When I tell you that this journey is hard and there are times I failed and submitted to my fleshly urges, but I instead of feeling ashamed or bad like I did in the past. I would go to God and ask for forgiveness and strength to overcome those desires.  I wrote this blog post to tell you that you are not alone in this journey of whatever battle or stronghold you are facing. You have someone who is here for you and to strengthen you in your time of weakness and that person is God.

Daily Devotional - 4 Joys Of Overcoming Obstacles: Helen Keller #Christianquote:

You don’t have to feel ashamed anymore or imprisoned. You can give it to God. He will break those bondage. Jesus is the true savior which why He died on that cross some 2,000 years because He wanted you to know that He has freed you.  John 3:17 states, “For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through Him.” So my friend whatever you feel the enemy telling you that you can’t overcome remember Galatians 5:1 states, “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.”

I’ll share some tips that can help you on this journey:

  1. Daily ask for strength. You have to constantly have constantly ask for strength about this stronghold because this is the way that you can overcome because you can’t rely on your strength but the strength of the Lord alone. Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through him who strengthens me.”

2. Get an accountability partner. Find some you trust and can hold you accountable to overcome your stronghold. This is someone who you feel comfortable sharing your thoughts with. 1 Thessalonians 5:11, “Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.”

3. Join a Support Group. Ecclesiastes 4:12,”And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him—a threefold cord is not quickly broken.”

4. Pray. God always makes a way out so talk to Him when you feel like you are overwhelmed. Corinthians 10:13,”No temptation[a] has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted[b] beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted,[c] he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.”

5. Be Persistent:When you succumb to the urges, don’t be hard on yourself just try again until you get it right. 2 Thessalonians 3:13 As for you, brothers, do not grow weary in doing good.

This was first time I actually told wrote about this on a social media platform but I felt that the Lord was leading me to share my story.  So be encourage and if have questions, feel free to email me or leave me a comment down below.

Well folks, until next time

Lazarus Effect

Hey Beautiful Peeps,

I hope your Wednesday is going amazingly great!!

Last year, I came across this video on Facebook and guys when I tell you that this video had me feeling very emotional. It was really touching. The beginning of the video opens up with twin babies are in a hospital crib and the mother is hovered over the crib mourning the lost her child. She picks up the dead child and hugs him. She crying and hugging the baby. While in her arms the baby comes to life. Guys, when I tell you I was so overwhelmed with emotions from this video because the mom was happy that life was restored back into her child. It instantly made think of Lazarus.

When I finished watching this video, I felt that the God laid something in my spirit that I feel that I should share with you guys. This is so funny because this topic segues into a topic that one of the pastors at my church spoke about. We are doing a series called What a Time to Be Alive. The pastor’s sermon was about Lazarus. He sermon about taking off our burial clothes because God already awoke us up. We have to make a decision based on our faith or fear.

I know you are probably wondering where I am going with this blog. Well let me share with you the reason behind this post is the story of Lazarus. Lazarus’s story starts in John 11. You see Lazarus was the brother of Martha and Mary. He was a friend a dear friend to Jesus. Well Lazarus becomes sick and the sisters sent word to Jesus that, “the one you love is sick” (John 11:3) Jesus receives the letter but He doesn’t go straight away to Bethany. He waits a bit then goes to Bethany. Lazarus has passed away by the time Jesus arrived. When Jesus finally makes it to Bethany, He is greeted by Martha who informs Jesus that if he has been there her brother would not have died. But Jesus reassures her, that her brother will rise again. She thinks He is talking about the resurrection; however, that was not the case. Jesus asked for the stone that covered the tomb to be rolled away. The sisters were telling Jesus that the Lazarus has been dead for a four days and he would smell. However, Jesus told them that if you believe you will see the glory of God. He stands at the tomb after He has thanked the God for hearing His prayers and He calls Lazarus to come out of the tomb.

Lazarus comes out of the tomb. Jesus orders that the sister remove Lazarus’s burial clothing. This whole story of Lazarus shows how sovereign our God is and He hears our cries and pleads. And God laid it on my spirit to share that many of us are praying for dead relationships and dreams that we thought were dead. But He is getting ready to bring those things to life just like He did with Lazarus. But you have to get your faith game on point because you can’t expect God to move if you don’t that believe that He is going to move in your situation. Bible Verse: 2 Corinthians 5:7 Learn Spanish with Bible on http://learnspanishthroughbible.blogspot.com Try it, practice it and happy learning. Blessings.:

Just like Lazarus had to make a choice when Jesus called him, he had to choose whether he was going to come out the tomb or not. We have to make the same choice to trust God or not in our situation. Are we going to trust God wholeheartedly with our situation and leave it before Him or take it into our hands and do our own things?

She who trusts in the Lord will never be disappointed. Today, I'm trusting God!:

I want to leave you with these two scriptures which I feel can be in encouraging to you in this season. Proverbs 3:5 states, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.” (ESV) and Mark 11:24 states, “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” (ESV)

Rest In Him!!

What Up Peeps!!

I hope your day is going by amazingly!!! Happy New Year!! Oh how I miss you guys!! Its been so long!!

Recently, my cousin introduced me to a new phrase and this is a phrase that ties in so well into every season of one’s life whether it be good or bad! So let me give you the back story of the phrase before I tell you what the phrase actually is.  So my cousin’s co worker has this phrase that she says and every time she says the phrase, she falls back into a chair or someone catches her. She uses this term for every situation for good news or bad news. Now folks, are you ready to know what that phrase is. Well its simple, its “Rest in Him”. How powerful is that phrase, especially if we truly apply it to our life? When my cousin told us about her coworker’s phrase, I instantly love it; especially the actions of her falling back and knowing that someone would catch her.

Can you imagine what our life would be if we truly applied this to our life daily? Instead of worrying or stressing about things just rest in the Lord and know that He will give us peace of mind on the matter instead of worry things we can’t fix nor control.  In Matt 11:28-30 states, “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly” (MSG).

God doesn’t want us to be burden about life and He wants us to rest in Him and be renewed. He doesn’t give us anything that will cause any harm to us but we as man take on these challenges that weight us down and forget that we have a Savior name Jesus who died on the cross for those burdens. Be free in the Lord! I know that you probably thinking that this is so easily said than done. But it is!! It’s really that simple! In order to start you must first lower your pride and be transparent with God. Then call out to Him and say, “I trust you with this situation. I am going rest in your presence and you Lord take control. Then leave it there. Don’t pick it back up!! I know how hard that may seem but trust it’s even harder picking up the heavy loaded burden that God freed you of.  Philippians 4:6-7 states, “Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life” (MSG).

So as we go into 2016, remember that you serve a God that you can rest in no matter what season you are. Trust in the Lord and know that He has your back. He is the true definition of a ride or die friend.

Live Life & Make Memories

Hey beautiful people!
I hope your Wednesday  went by as excellent as I feel. This past weekend, I had the honorable privilege of attending a funeral and baby dedication. I know you are probably wondering why would I consider going to a funeral as honorable. Well I’ll explain it bit later.

Life is something that we take for granted. We are so stuck in the everyday hustle and bustle of our daily routine that we take those precious moments for granted or we simply miss them for dozens of reasons.  We don’t realize the importance of life until something drastic comes and disrupts the flow of our nature routine and makes us ponder about life.

I felt that I was going through a routine of life until I realized that there was more to life than what I was doing. I use to live vicariously through other people. I would be on my social media feeds looking at what my friends,  family and people who I followed pages in admiration wishing to do the things that I saw they were doing. I decided to myself that I could and would do the things that are beyond my daily routine. Things that challenge me and makes me step out of my comfort zone.

How many of us know that comfort and fear can keep us for alot of things. I believer of John 10:10 that God came to give us life of abundance. I’m not referring to possessions but to experience life to fullest.  I feel that we must take time for the precious things in life. We must make memories so that we can reflect on them in those seasons where we feel sad, depressed or unmotivated. These memories act as antidote to cure those dry seasons. It rejuvenates us.

Now back to the funeral and baby dedication, I was able to be with my friends’ who during that weekend chose to celebrate life and cherish those precious moments of the past or began new ones. I was blessed to be apart of their moments.

Today, make the decision to make time for the memories and not get caught up in the everyday hustle bustle. When you pass what do you want to be remembered for? The choice is your!!

XOXOX,
KAT

Chosen

Growing up in elementary school,  my favorite class used to be PE. I loved going to PE because thats where I could hang out with my girls but most important, I got to play my favorite game of all time kickball. I remembered my first time playing this game at my new school as if it was yesterday. I was in fifth grade at the time and our teacher brought us out to our PE teacher. He asked for two students and he randomly selected two students and they happened to be the two popular kids in the class. You guys remember that whole team selection process. It was just me and this another boy who were left. I was fairly new to the school and nobody knew me. The two team captains were arguing among themselves about who they wanted on their team. I overheard the boy saying, I don’t want the fat girl.

Why is that we have this misconception that chunky people can’t run but thats another topic for another day. Back to the story, so I joined my other teammates and I waited for my turn as the the ball rolled to me, I kicked as hard as I could. The ball went flying and I ran to first base, then  second base, dusted past third  and merrily skipped to home because I knew nobody was going catch that ball. Lets just say that those kids learned a lesson never judge a book but its cover. Cliché, I know but its true. The thing I remembered most was hearing the boy who hadn’t  chosen me say “Man, I should have chose her!”

How many of us remember a time where we weren’t chosen  for something whether it be a job, relationship,  position or to be part of organizations. In our mind we felt that we were right for the position. I have find that way so many times and I use to question myself and sometimes doubt myself of not being worthy. Until recently during my quiet time with Lord where he opened my eyes to this verse James 1:18 NLT “He chose to give birth to us by giving us his true word. And we, out of all creation, became his prized possession.”

Now what stuck out to me that God had chose me. Even with my faults God still wants me. Guess what…He wants you too. The fact is that He sees us as His prized possession that He sent His only son Jesus to die on the cross for our sins. He did this so that He could have relationship with His children.  So with this in mind, the next time you are rejected just remember that God will never reject you because He chose you. He loves you and you are His prized possession thats all that matters.
